I’m a senior software engineer with roughly nine years of experience, currently leading React Native development for a Fortune 500 retailer. Day to day that means owning the architecture of an app used by millions of people — performance, native module boundaries, release trains, and the unglamorous work of keeping a large codebase habitable for the team that has to live in it.

What I’m moving toward is agentic AI engineering. Not prompt wrappers — systems: agents that hold state, call tools, recover from failure, and run somewhere I control. I build these the same way I build mobile infrastructure, with attention to the boring parts. Hermes Agent runs rootless under systemd because an agent with shell access deserves a blast radius.

The other half of my time goes to hardware. I have a homelab, a soldering iron, and a 3D printer, and most of my side projects end up touching all three — an ESP32 biosensor streaming heart-rate data over BLE, a trading system running on a Raspberry Pi. Working close to the metal keeps me honest about what software actually costs.
